After a less than satisfying lunch eating some mediocre pies, we headed for tea, to be exact "devonshire tea" at Churinga Cafe Restaurant, self proclaimed to be the best in the Dandenongs. With the wind, rain and cold weather, it made good sense to have some tea and scones to fill up.
The best? Lets find out.
For AUD 10, you get a set of tea and 2 scones. The tea is fragrant but nothing too special. The best part had yet to come.
The scones hit the spot. Clotted cream and jam on a fluffy scones dusted with some icing sugar. One could either share a scone each or be greedy and take the two. It is good enough to justify the extra calories for the day.
While it continued to rain we sip our teas and enjoyed the greenery outside.
So if you happen to be at Mount Dandenong looking for Devonshire tea? Churinga seems to do the trick for AUD 10.

Verdict: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. If you happen to be at this tourist spot, why not? Although i won't suggest driving an hour from Melbourne CBD just for tea.

WOW real clotted cream! Most tea places serve with some faux clotted cream...Looks like clotted cream but not clotted cream.
warm, fresh-tasting scones? i'd take four pieces, thanks very much! :D
