Mystery Oven Cheese Tarts @ Mysteryoven.blogspot.com

I received a pleasant email from a young chap called Simon just before i left the country asking if i would like to try some of his cheese tarts that he had been baking and improving on since 2006. Well, how can i say no to food? Really, can i do that? Yes, if your dictionary had the word "discipline".

Apparently, my vocabulary is quite limited so no, discipline doesn't exist.

In any case, it is time to go back to classics and say enough to the cup cake and macaroons. A classic like the cheese tart that never made it big but has always forever been available at most bakeries.

Simon from Mystery Oven makes wholesome basic looking cheese tarts packed with ingredients from Australia to Belgium right up to the US of A and sells it online as a hobby.

The Hazelnut and Choc Chip cheese tart is a delight to bite into. The cheese filling is solid and one may feel that it is excessive but we get a feel of satisfaction when you bite into it.

Using the more generic tasting blueberry jam, one thing that stands out is how generous he is with his jam. Nowadays, most places you will probably get a dab on top and it is labeled as Blueberry Cheese Tart. It comes in two sizes too; the Big (8 cm in diameter) and Small (5 cm in diameter).
Other than Blueberry, you have an assorted of fillings like Apricot, Pineapple and Strawberry, all very appetising as well.

On top of what i got to try he has even more flavours like: Durian (only available during season), Apple, Raspberry, Premium Coffee with Almond and Chocolate Almond

I understands he makes a very fresh quiche too, made just an hour before the delivery time so that there is still signs of steam when you pick it up.

Prices are very reasonable for the premium ingredients he uses and god only knows how he still manages to make money. The Big tarts are RM2.20 and the Small tarts are RM1.20. The quiche which i sadly didn't get to try is RM55 for a 25 cm diameter.

Not only that mention Lots of Cravings and for a limited time only (end of August), you will get a 10% discount if you purchase above RM40 and a 5% discount if you spend between RM25 -39.

(Minimum order is 10 Big tarts or 25 Small tarts)

If you order for parties, order a 100 Small pieces and get additional 10 pieces free!

Verdict: These little cheese stuffed babies are worth 4 stars out of 5 stars, if you really like the thick and "jelak" cheese tarts, otherwise take the small ones so you don't feel that it's too heavy.
Thanks to Simon for the treat!
