Restoran Sunrise @ Petaling Jaya; Possibly the best roast duck rice in PJ?

Roast Duck to cure some Monday Blues?

Well, one of the most tried and trusted place for some roast duck loving is the Sunrise Roast Duck. Famed for what else but their roast duck and it appears to be only thing served in this place with the addition of blanched vegetables with oyster sauce.

People don't order by plate here, they go by a minimum 1/4 duck and with just the Wife and I finishing 3/4 duck with ease, you know you are here for something good.

Roast Duck in its glistening glory; served with a herbal sauce that will keep you wanting to ask for extra rice. Their ducks are freshly roasted in batches, and throughout the half hour that we were there, they must have easily been serving a good 10-20 ducks.

No de-boning, a simple chop, wham, bam, thank you mam, the duck is served within minutes (if there is a fresh batch out from the oven).

Judging from the insane amount of people, i think i am not the only convert of their roast duck.

Oops, I just read their name card, they are closed on Mondays, so you might need to read this to cure your Monday Blues!

Address and contact details:

31, Jalan 21/1, S.E.A. Park
46300, Petaling Jaya
Selangor, Malaysia

Tel: 03-78769689

Opening hours: 11.30 am till sold out (closed every monday)

Verdict: 4 stars out of 5 stars. Good quality roast duck served with the most basic carbohydrate; rice. The addition of the herbal sauce rounds up the whole meal perfectly. Prices are not super cheap, with 3/4 duck, 2 rice and 3 drinks, the bill was maybe closer to RM20 per pax.

It's been a while - have been put off by the general lack of parking and huge crowds. :(

Sun Rise is a local name in PJ area already but there is one more called Loong Foong further down. It's opposite some academy over there. It's a corner lot. If you like your roast duck to have a strong herbal scent, this is the place. you can check out from my post here http://craving4food.blogspot.com/2009/03/loong-foong-restaurant-taman-paramount.html

cheers~!
