Hy Thian @ Seri Kembangan

Our family have been one of their most faithful diners in recent years. Often once a month, if not more, we would turn up in Hy Thian for their fast, affordable and delicious meals.

Heck, we have followed them through 3 different locations and they are now in their fourth location, bigger and grander. Their last location was 6 shop lots wide and this current one takes the icing on the cake with 10 or 12 shoplots.

Talking about an expanding business.

Nevertheless, we are still familiar faces and service is still incredibly quick. The time taken from your order and the first dish served usually would not exceed 15 minutes. Any longer, and we would be grumbling between ourselves wondering what is the problem.

Dad, a faithful diner asked me to go take some pictures and blog about their new address.

Why not, one should always try their best to satisfy their financier.

Their signature Pak Cham Kai. Only Kampung Chicken were hurt in the process of coming up with this delicious protein that has a tinge of saltiness before dipping it into some a minced ginger concoction.

Their Baked Cod Fish. At first look, it looked fried but the texture tells otherwise. Obviously a quick fry to maintain the moisture of the fish and baked to finish it off.

As faithful diners, we are sometimes given complimentary dishes. An indonesian curry prawns served in claypot. Fresh prawns were again quick fried before tossed into a curry powder based sauce.

Their Garlic Pork Ribs. By now you would see an obvious trend of how the dishes are prepared. Literally everything are treated to a quick fry before tossed into a sauce. In this case, well deep fried pork ribs are coated in a pungent garlic sauce.

Want to enjoy unhealthy vegetables? The "dried fried"("gon chao") brinjal should do the trick. Addictive to the core with the slightly sweet coating.

They also do good tau fu dishes as they make it in-house. This is braised with some peanuts and minced pork.

Some greens end the meal.

Verdict: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. Comfort food and as i said, it is fast, efficient and affordable. However only if you are around the area as i can't see people from the city travelling quite a fair bit to this side of town.
