Ri Yakitori @ Gardens Hotel, Mid Valley

Recently i have been learning alot of lessons.

But like they say, some old habits never die.

Lesson 1: Don't get drunk on bubbly, the hangover is worse than drinking whisky.
Fact 1: Got drunk on bubbly two Saturdays in a row, two Sunday hangovers.

Lesson 2: Get too smart about finding restaurants after a glance on the Internet
Fact 2: Went into Gardens Residences and asked wheres Ri Yakitori. Ohh, its all the way on the other side at the Gardens Hotel.

So much for being the smart alec.

The Entertainers of the Night. They diligently grill your orders away, seem to be enjoying themselves too.

Order anything and they will serve you shredded rabbit food. Wasabi or Sesame sauce anyone? Both seemed abit mild, i wanted more kick from the sesame sauce but i couldn't find any. In any case, whos here for the salad?

Chicken skin anyone? This took awhile to guess (without asking the waitress). I tend to be quite egoistic when it comes to asking staff about what i am being served, half the time i imagine them giving me a cynical face thinking what a retard for asking me such an elementary question. I had to lie to the Girlfriend that it might be chicken feet for her to put a bite in her mouth. Needless to say, i had the rest.

The menu is concentrated on everything yakitori. All the chicken parts you can imagine and some seafood and beef. Alas, no pork.

We had a set for RM58 which comes with a generous amounts of yakitori sticks with a rice topped with half boiled egg and chicken. Some extra orders worth ordering is the wagyu beef (RM26), the foie gras (RM23) and the tamago (RM??*).

*Blame the bubbly.

Chicken tight, i mean thigh or i meant breast? Grilled to perfection, well seasonsed too.

Chicken wings that have been skillful semi-deboned for you to consume (does it even make sense?)

Wagyu beef to die for, so melt-in-your-mouth.

Foie Gras was on the small side, but where else to eat for RM23?
The tamago is awesome, if i have to had eggs everyday, i would like it this style and nothing else.

Other pictures were just so darn disgusting it is not worth posting up, so you got to imagine.

All in all a pleasant dinner, wouldn't mind coming again.

Just need to remember it is in Gardens Hotel.

Address and contact details:

7th Floor, The Gardens Hotel (Robinson’s side: take hotel lifts)
Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, KL.

Tel: 03-22681188

Open: 5pm to 1am (last order at 11.30pm). Closed Sundays.

Verdict: 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. A nice Japanese restaurant that focuses on the grill, should you want anything else, you got to go somewhere, but if you want yakitori, this is the place.

heh, yeah, we got lost trying to find this place too. made it worse cos we refused to ask for directions.
y'know, even though 11.30pm is considered really late for last orders, i wish we had more restaurants where the kitchen closes AFTER midnight.

We love coming here since it opens till late. The wait staff get a little annoyed with us though, since they're like wanting to pack and cabut home quickly.

Yeah, prosecco is always worst becoz of the bubbles. They kinda get to the head faster.
