Dave's Deli @ Subang Parade

I remembered Dave's Deli as a kid, no more than 12 years old i reckon.

Those days, going to Sunway Pyramid was the "in thing" because there had a skating rink. Not that i ever stepped in that circle and attempted to balance a huge piece of mass on those skating blades. I would probably fall and create a hole in the middle and all the other kids would cry.

Near to the skating rink however, our family discovered "Dave's Deli".

Somehow as many more eateries come and go, Dave's Deli got lost in the radar along the way.

Many years later, i am surprised that they are around. Matter of fact, if you go to their website, they are franchising their outlets and added a few more brands / cuisines in their stables.

Hard to believe because if you visit their Subang Parade outlet, you can't help but question why the outlet seemed a bit tired and even the menu resembled the food we were eating years ago.

The foot long sausage was nothing spectacular. The coleslaw seemed to flood memories, maybe the taste is still there.

One thing i remembered from Dave's Deli is not the roast chicken which they claim is the best in Malaysia but the oxtail soup. It was every drop as good as it was years ago but the price of RM15-17 a bowl seemed steep especially after seeing one of the girls taking a pre packed packet from the fridge and warming up in the pot.

Just one the things to have to bring back childhood. Visiting a place where you frequent as a kid.

Available at Subang Parade, 1 Utama, Sunway Pyramid (apparently closed too) and the Weld (apparently closed).

Verdict: 3 stars out of 5 stars. I reckon if it was any cheaper, i wouldnt mind going again but a soup here and a sausage there, the meal can buy you something decent, with so many eateries mushrooming everywhere.

Dave's Deli nostalgia!! Hey didn't they sort of slip away and close down all their outlets for a while, and then reopened a few years ago? Never did make that big bang comeback though - should've reinvented themselves a bit more.

I used to love eating their roast chicken and spaghetti bolognese! But that was when I was a teenager, and everything was new to my tastebuds...not sure about the taste now though. =P

they were good during their early years. anyway the weld (their first outlet) branch was long shut many years ago, you might want to update that.
