The Revenge of the Durians: Krispy Kremes

They have been contained for two weeks. But the durians managed to escape from Sungai Buloh with the help of the rambutans.

No one knew why they were put in there in the first place.

Was it the price wars?

Where vendors were shouting "RM 1 for 1, RM 5 for 10! Come here! Come here!"

Or was it for another reason?

The rambutans believed that the durians were taking in too much attention from this outlet in Mid Valley.

So the durians were now all out for they had a new mission.

To get their thorns on some of these babies.

Are these as good as durians? A far cry from their first outlet, the Mid Valley shop only had a queue of 5-10 people during the prime time of 3pm.

Told you, it was the durians.

But durians or Krispy Kremes?

Sadly i think i would have preferred my creamy durians. The donuts were just not like the ones i had in Australia and UK. Tasted slightly more dense and had like an aftertaste of oil, you couldn't pop piece after piece like you could with durians. After two days, it tasted even more dense and on the verge of hard.

For RM19.90 a dozen, i can easily get more than a dozen of durians.

At this point, the durians know why they would be destined for Tanjung Rambutan or maybe ISA, if they are unlucky. With the pungent aroma, as i write this, they are probably all trucked up to their next prison, away from the city so that the donuts can once again rule the palates of Malaysians.

Verdict: 3 stars out of 5 stars.

For the next lucky person Bangsar Babe , the tag shall continue with the following phrase

"As i woke up and starred at the mirror, i saw something unfamiliar. It looked like me, sounded like me, smelled like me, tasted like me, but something was not right"

NICELY done!! Even though I detest durians, KKs definitely do not deserve this amount of spotlight! Poor Rambutans, forever relegated to the association with the criminally insane! They need more airtime!

KK is a lot cheaper in KL! We have to pay £1 per donut here! Sounds like Beard Papa, where it did not taste as good in KL. I tink maybe the humdity in the air has a little to do with it.

hazza: yeah i know..i tried the 1 pound KK b4..

qwazymonkey: thank yew thank yew..

yeah i felt that too in KK. Something is just not right with the donut. I had in HK and Bali and its just perfect as it is. Plus after a few days (ok it only lasted only 2 days usually after long hours of flight), it's still bliss....

"Joe" who is constantly craving said...

irenekay: yeah something is different
