P Ramlee Musical Season 2 - If you can afford it, go now!

After a less then impressed King and I musical, it took quite awhile before i wanted to indulge in another musical.

It was disappointing and i have forked out tickets worth RM253 for good seats.

Then P Ramlee Musical appeared from nowhere and i was asked, do you want to go? Budget this time, RM53 only. Well, apparently it didn't take much convincing before i said yes.

After the opening scene (after the preview), i was glued to my seat. The choreography was brilliant, the props played the part and all the singers were lively.

Yes, i admit i am a banana in more then 1 way (Chinese and Malay) but the occasional turn to the small little digital screen to see what they were singing about and facing to the stage more or less took care of the issue.

The singing was spot on. Infact way before the intermission, if they ever released or were selling the soundtrack CD, i would buy it without regret. I must say, its been a long while since i bought an original music CD so it says alot why i want to get it.

The three lovebirds that P Ramlee were involved in the musical was brilliant in all their individual ways.

Azizah was elegant, her singing was touching as the topic dwelled on first love and do-not-forget-me.

Junaidah, his first wife, was singing about his fame and jealousy, her want out of this relationship.

Norizan, the second wife sang with emotions about her non-existent husband and how it wasn't her fault that the rumours exists. Her acting was very real too!

Lastly the third wife, her voice immaculate, the acting scene with Remy and Sally portrayed an innocent courtship which would rather be more suitable if the both of them were in their teens and not when they were both divorcees.

After the end of the show, 8.30pm plus intermission ended at 12am, i immediately wanted to buy tickets for another show. Alas, if i had a bottomless well as a wallet and not a stomach, i would go, RM33 seats are the cheapest but all the way up at the top but the second cheapest tickets comes at RM153. Go google P Ramlee and Istana Budaya and i am sure it will get you there.

Then again, if you missed the first season (which i regretted) and read this in time, do consider watching this.

Showing till the 14th of June.

It was truly magical and captivating.

Now i think Beauty and the Beast better dont disappoint because i invested on good tickets!
