What a pleasure..

Taking a break off food reviews, one of my greatest achievements in the terms of savouring the best was highlighted in this website i visited just now: the World's Best 50 Restaurants in the World

Remember my dodgy pictures and my amateur review? It turned out to be the 30th Best Restaurant in the World!!!

Among the list that boasts El Bulli and Fat Duck, I am proud to have at least tried 1 restaurant. I think i found my new resolution; to try another one.

Ok, thats for now. Back to work.

you know, the list annoys me. surely, Asia has more than just 5 world-class restaurants? (the restaurants in Japan are missing and we all know Japan has some darn good restaurants..)

only 5 restaurants in Asia made the top 100.. all are ranked in the bottom half of the list. i think the list is rather biased towards the west.. doncha think?!

These rankings cannot believe one lah :P Char Koay Teow restaurant is the best la haha!

Anyway I'd love to get the chance to dine in one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants.. I am watching his shows lately.. addicted sial!

Eh, we wanna visit those restaurants in the list too! There're quite a number of top 50 restaurants in the UK. We really wanna try it out too!

ll: we shud get a representative from malaysia la..and award wong kei 3 michelin stars!

kennymah: haha sounds like a great idea..see what innovative structure i can come up with..

mr mandarin man: fingers crossed, somewhere nearby which by the looks mean singapore iggis which is in the bottom 50-100 or tetsuya sydney priced at 195 aus without wine per person..start saving money!

simon: *chase you with knife* haha

c&c: well if you see the judges, there are all biasedly based in europe, cant blame them, if we had lots of asian judges, i m sure the list would tilt asian..

vkeong: gordon? 3 star michelin..pay thru ur arse to eat there i heard..

sugarbean: hahah well wish u the best of luck!

there is a michelin list for restaurants under U$25, maybe we should ask those reviewers to come to Malaysia.

We don't have a lot of Michelin Star quality restaurants (most of those restaurants are privately owned and not housed in hotels, unlike Malaysia's best restaurants)

so when will you be joining me at hilton kl?

making waves huh...

These kind of lists are biased at best, or completely inaccurate, at worst. Taste is completely arbitrary and often cultural and nurturing influences come into play. So, unless it can be empirically measured, this list is simply a "preference list" of those who contributed to it.

jun: you bet! hahaha

henry: haha i m cheap skate..so i read online for free mah..hilton kl? lets see if we can make a date for mid may after my exams..

zewt: big waves...

hazza: well i think thats where some of the more objective criteria comes to play like; service, wine list and menu choice..this can be marked neutrally
