Down with Back Ache

My back has been aching here and there for the whole week.. sometimes it hurts and sometimes its as if im fine..then it start to hurt when i bend down..and when i reach for a file..and when i blog..this is no good..im a young 21 year old who "regularly" goes to the gym..how can i already be an old man with a back ache.? To make matters worse, its the lower back..normally that indicates the lower spine could be the culprit..oh dear me..im scaring myself away..then recently i got to know my friend's uncle passed away with pancreas cancer and the 1st sympton was a backpain..omg..i think i am going to faint..

I wish i had such a sexy back..but i just want a back that doesnt hurt..

Then someone introduced me to a Japanese fellow that does massages..hmm a male massaging me..ok? So i thought why not? I stared at him and thought to myself..hes the same size as me.. The massage starts and i can feel his anger and force all over me..asking me occassionally if its pain..wished i could punch him and ask him if it was pain or not..then he started to mumble lots of japanese words..i started to panic..wondering what in the world he discovered.. his chinese wife came over and started to translate..turns out my lower back pain is caused by some very hard and tight thigh muscles/tendons..flash back..never exercise before you warm up and always cool down..and how in the world does my thighs relate to my bloody back??!!

My lower back is still in pain and i have already been warned that i will be in pain tommorrow..time to get MC perhaps?? One more visit next week, and i hope to hit the driving range and the gym once again..

boo: i dunno..just visited the doctor for a 2nd opinion..but it was closed!!..looks like i will take the pain another day and c what the doctor says..tuesday coming?? maybe the food might take the pain away..

Oh my... your younger then me with a back ache, possbile your working out your back too much... better go see a doc :P and I was like wow, what a sexy back until you said you wish...lol but yea I hope you can find a way to heel the pain.

counterpain does it all. Really! Or swiss therapy. I applied it before going for my law exam. Need to write like laser printer mar, so my arm will get very ache. Can get from watson or guardian.

P/s: That sexy back is so yummy.

babekl: im actually seating on a very comfy chair now at work..goin to visit the doctor in abit to maybe get a referral doctor to a specialist..

i hate to tell you this, but once this happens, its likely to be a lifelong condition. i also had lower back pain, around 24 or 25 years old. it was also coz of knotted muscle etc etc ...but it always seems to recur at the same place. make sure you always sit upright, not slouching... always bend your knees to pick up heavy objects.... dont listen to all these young ppl...salonplas, counterpain etc...all very temporal. you should also do lower back strengthening exercise once you're better.

Hey, my friend also suffer from the same problem, lower back pain for many years now. Apparently, he had a slipped disc which rendered his lower backbone slightly... bent to the left. I think you better have a proper checkup to find out what's wrong.

jason: thanks for the concern..but touch wood i doubt i hav a slipped disc..its the muscles between the hip and the back..well i hope..

you can try to attend yoga class to cure da pain! but somehow, i have stop going yoga class cause i hurt my shoulder badly and now da pain is back (especially when i sit in da cinema for too long!):( i am a victim too... sobzz...

i bumped into allan, of allan yap and nigel skelchy fame, in a blind man massage place in brickfields. he was recommending a fella who apparently does very good sports massage.
your symptoms sound like mine lah, the pain can go all the way to the thighs.

dude if the pain is in the centre then its spinal related *must see doctor!!!!*
but if the pain is on either side or both sides just above the hip, its muscular related. this can be because of too tight hamstrings because u dont stretch your muscles after u work out. you should warm up and stretch your joints before a workout, and to cool down stretch your muscles ...
for quick relief you can use yokoyoko for instant relief but it only lasts for a while.
the stretching's the key to fixing it....
but if the pain is in the middle at the spine, DO NOT STRETCH!!!!
