Restaurant I-Po @ Klang

As Meena from a whiff of lemon grass once asked..have you caught the boolicious/masak masak disease?..Yes i think i did..ever since she blogged about I-Po and how darn good the damn duck was..i couldnt resist..and i guess my girlfriend saw right through me when i suggested i take her to Jln Mesui which was once again another recommendation from boo..As everyone might know..i caught the ducky disease when i was in London..i ate duck at least once a day..maybe less..but definitely alot of duck..and i was hooked..now i see why some people cant "tahan" and have cigarettes or alcohol..i needed duck..haha so on this fine hot day..my girlfriend and i stepped into this humble kopi tiam and this is what happened..

The closer one is slightly spicy and the non spicy at the top..either way its was darn good..compared to the thicker and sweet sauce you get in London..this i guess is pretty good..

Half a duck..the main course...true to the floggers promise..the skin was crispy and being the skinnier ducks in the east, there was not much of a fat layer..the duck was well marinated..and without rice, it can be a tad salty..especially the bones area (breast meat)..other then that it was definitely very satisfying..

Just when i thought i already redefined greediness..a plate of siew yoke came..my girlfriend sheepishly smiled and digged in..yes she orders in Klang..because i dont want to be ripped off because i cant speak hokkien except for "le hoh boh" (how are you)

Seating facing towards the back of the shop..i noticed the treasures of the restaurants..the warehouse of ducks...wow!..Since the picture was zoomed to the max..i thought i played around with the effect..kind of cool right??

Now time for instructions on how to get there..surprisingly this place is dead easy to come to..if you take Federal Highway..you are basically going straight all the way to inside Klang till you eventually see your first traffic light after you pass by 2 schools on the left..just stick yourself on the right lane and you will be fine..dont worry you will see the traffic light..and theres BP on the left also..turn left...then go straight..roundabout means 12 pm..then you will see a Caltex..and a Maybank on the left...its just down the row...finding parking is notoriously hard..but treasures are meant to be shared..this duck is definitely worth a commendable 7.5 out of 10..next stop is to try another hyped about place called Long Fung in PJ..so till then..

sunrise's skin is crispier while loong foong's duck is juicier (esp when you have it hot) and has a nicer sauce base..guess it depends on your preference.

i cant make up my mind whether i want crispier duck or juicier duck..i guess we cant have the best of both worlds can we?

Meatier duck? Aren't the meat will be tougher?

"Joe" who is constantly craving said...

dont think so..its abit like chicken..dont think the fatter the chicken the tougher it will b though..bcoz the ducks in london come with half an inch of fat after the skin!
